June 7-June 29 2018
Monday – Friday 8am-3:30pm

Uvalde CISD School Board and Superintendent have made an extraordinary commitment to enhancing student Fine Arts education by funding the Summer Fine Arts Academy. There are offerings open to UCISD student grades 3-12. We are dedicating our time, money and effort to facilitating the growth of the student artist through education and apprenticeship in their craft. This Summer Fine Arts Academy is offered free of charge. Free transportation will coincide with summer school days between 8am and 3:30pm. A free breakfast and lunch is also provided to all academy students. Unfortunately a student that does not pass to the next grade level or does not pass their required state tests will not be able to participate in the Fine Arts Academy. They will be required to take other summer school classes.

We hope that all parents, teachers and students will make every effort to make sure students pass all their classes and state tests so they can participate in the Fine Arts Academy. Acceptance will be on a first come first serve basis. Turn your forms in early!

There will be auditions held at the Uvalde High School Auditorium and Black Box from
2pm-6pm on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 and Call Backs on Thursday, May 31, 2018 to
determine which role is best for each student. At that time parents will be given more
information and have time to ask questions.

UCISD Appreciates School Board Members!

Thank a School Board Member!

January was School Board Recognition Month and Uvalde C.I.S.D. joined other districts across the state to thank these community volunteers for their commitment and contributions to our public schools.

School board members serve countless hours working to make public education the best it can be for every child. In a climate of change and challenge, they develop policies and make tough decisions on complex educational and social issues that affect the entire community and the lives of individual students.

Preparing today’s students to be productive citizens and the leaders of tomorrow is a tremendous task. As elected officials, school board members are the voice of their communities, serving first and foremost in the best interest of our schoolchildren

The men and women serving Uvalde C.I.S.D. are: President Stephen Gerdes II, Vice President Javier Flores, Secretary Rob Fowler, Board of Trustee Luis Fernandez, Board of Trustee Roland Sanchez, Board of Trustee Anabel White and Board of Trustee Carlos Fernandez.

Great leadership always begins with a willing heart and a positive attitude. Please join us as we applaud these local leaders for helping our kids soar to success.
