National Principals Month!

The Batesville students and staff had great things to say about our school principal Dr. Hector Lopez.
He is kind and thoughtful and makes the staff and teachers feel valued. In the time he has been on our campus he has been a great leader and we as a team have great plans for the future of our school.
The younger students love him because he helps them with school work, plays hide and seek with them on the playground and keeps them safe. The older students said they feel comfortable going to Dr. Lopez with requests and concerns because he is always willing to make their school experience a great one.

The following letter is from Jeanette Ball, Ph.D., Superintendent of Schools, to share one of our high school students passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 8th. Our sincere condolences and thoughts go out the family and friends of our student. During this time as our school community processes the tragic news and copes with grief, the school district will offer counseling support services to all of our students, staff, parents, and community. A Crisis Management Team from San Antonio will be on the Uvalde High School campus on Friday, September 8th to offer counseling for families from 9am-3pm.  If any of our parents or community members are in need of counseling they are encouraged to contact our family specialists at 830-278-6655:

Niki Henderson at nhenderson6353@uvaldecisd.net ext. 5510
Nikki Rodriguez at nrodriguez6375@uvaldecisd.net ext. 6112
Barbara Chase at bchase8526@uvaldecisd.net ext. 5418

This is a difficult time for everyone, however, the gentle support all school community members give to each other during this time is the first step in healing. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me, your campus principal or your child’s school counselor.

With sympathy, love and gratitude,

Jeanette Ball, Ph.D.

Does your U.C.I.S.D. student need a bus ride?

If your student is currently enrolled with Uvalde C.I.S.D. and they need to ride the school bus, please see the registrar at your student's campus or stop by the Transportation Office (1009 N. Camp) to fill out a bus registration form by August 11th. There are some slight changes this year so all bus riders must register, even if they rode last year. Stop times and locations will be available starting August 14th. If you have any questions please call the Transportation Office at 830-333-7003.
