Parent Involvement
Kids reading in a library

The UCISD libraries would like to encourage parents to be a part of their child’s learning by volunteering in the library. There are many jobs you could help the librarian do. They include:
  • Shelving books
  • Checking books in and out
  • Reading to the students in either English or Spanish or perhaps both
  • Book maintenance (taping torn pages, putting barcode on, etc.)
  • Finding materials the teachers request
  • Delivering materials to the classrooms
  • Helping during book fair times
  • Monitor AR testing
  • Many, many more
This doesn’t have to be an all day, every day commitment, any time you have available will be helpful. Training will be provided.

If this sounds like something you would like to do, please contact campus Parent Liaison to get information about becoming a parent volunteer.
